I love Pilates! I love the positive impact it has on so many of my clients. The differences we see, time and again, often in a relatively short space of time, are amazing!

It is a fantastic way to improve your core strength and posture.

I work with a whole body approach so all areas of the body get a work out, but we focus on building a strong core and improving back strength which leads to good posture. This reduces lower back pain.

We start with mobilisation, getting your joints warmed up and nourished, ensuring joints stay healthy. Who doesn’t want healthy joints?

In the main phase we work the body. We have an emphasis on Shoulder and pelvic stability. The core and back are worked as is the Pelvic floor (we all what that kept healthy!)

These exercises will have a positive impact on your day to day living, bringing good habits to your movements.

We culminate the class with some stretches, this help to ensure your muscles work to their best advantage and keep their elasticity

Finally, we practice some relaxation, a necessity in this modern world where we live a 90mph.

You also get a little homework, just to keep you focused on gaining those new habits

Small, intimate classes with a maximum of 12 participants.

In this course, the Pilates Exercises are adapted to the needs of the whole class, from beginner to advanced.

Initially we will undertake a postural screening of the group so I can adapt/teach the Pilates exercises that are relevant to the group as a whole. We will also do some basic goal setting, including sit and reach tests, to provide a base line from which you can monitor your progression through the course.

Classes will include:
Warm Up – this gets the body ready for the main event! We will get the joints lubricated and muscles readied.
Main Section – this is where all the work is done! We will learn a selection of Pilates Exercises to help you reach your goals. They will include work for the back, abdominals, shoulders, flexibility, tone and more.
Closing Section – here is the nice bit…lots of post-workout stretches and structured time for relaxation and meditation
Homework – yep, you will be getting some suggestions for things to practice at home.

Teaching Pilates is a hands-on occupation! It is my job to assist and guide you into the correct position.
Please bring a yoga mat if you have one (I have a limited number) and also a large bath towel, this will help protect your back when you are doing the Pilates exercises.
Suitable attire is required. Please wear comfy clothing: leggings, t-shirt, shorts, vest top, etc. Bare feet and no jewellery please.

As part of your course you will have access to the Members section of the website and the Members-Only Facebook group. This will be filled with all of the additional information that you will need to help you reach your Pilates goal. There will be additional exercises (with supporting videos and photos), discussions on nutrition and the sharing of recipes, a member’s chat facility and I will also be on hand with additional support.
